Scientific research has found that some children who struggle to keep their focus in class have seen a measurable improvement by using a standing desk.

Friends Kevin Thompson and Jeb Coates designed the Nessy Table when Kevin’s wife, a teacher at a Hertfordshire school, noticed some children seemed more engaged with learning and were less disruptive when they were standing at their desks rather than sitting.
Further research led them to realise that children affected with ADHD were also seeing the benefit of using standing desks both at school and at home. That was all the inspiration they needed.
Off to the drawing board where Nessy began to take shape. Hours of sketching, cutting templates and shaping timber prototypes and eventually Nessy emerged!
